"Chewali was born from a simple but rather frustrating realization"
Chewali was founded by me, Wida Chewali, a full-time medical student. In healthcare, there is structure, clarity and high demands on knowledge. In the nail industry, there is creativity and craftsmanship, but often a lack of the very system and structure that I myself lacked. Over time, the contrast became clear.
As a self-taught nail technologist, a desire grew to create nail products that feel truly well thought out. Where every step has a function and where you as the user understand why you are doing what you are doing.
Behind each formulation is over ten years of experience in the nail industry. All products are personally tested by the founder over an extended period of time.
All our gels are also tested in lower quality LED lamps. This is a conscious choice to place higher demands on the gels' performance and ensure that they cure correctly even without expensive, advanced electronics.
The nail profession is still too often seen as a hobby rather than a professional craft. This is something we want to help change. Working with nails requires knowledge, precision, responsibility and experience and the products used should reflect this. From the quality of the formulations to the design of the packaging, the whole should signal that this is a profession to be taken seriously.
Our ambition is to make it easier for all nail technologists, regardless of level. To offer products that are easy to understand, safe to use and reliable in practice. Because when the tools work as they should, the craft becomes more fun, better and more sustainable in the long run.
